Thailand might have a new football hero tonight as Siroch scored his second goal of the night to put the War Elephants firmly in control of the tie.

Chanathip Songkrasin looked to have run himself into a dead end on the left flank but after being confronted by three Indonesian defenders, he played the ball through his opponent's legs to Siroch who made no mistake, firing across the goalkeeper and into the far corner of the goal.

The Thais finally made the crucial breakthrough seven minutes before the break as Fachruddin Aryanto's attempted clearance of a Theerathon Bunmathan cross went awry.

The Indonesian No.16 could only watch on in horror as it came off Siroch Chatthong's knee and into goal for the opener.
