Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul (Thailand)

Described by his coach post-match as a ‘beast,’ the defensive midfielder was a key disruptor in front of a shifting defensive line, winning all of his aerial duels, as well as allowing Thailand to maintain possession in central areas and creating a handful of openings with incisive through balls.

Ho Tan Tai (Vietnam)

Having impressed off the bench earlier in the tournament, the 24-year-old was handed the start ahead of Vu Van Thanh at right wing-back and was one of the more creative threats for a Vietnam side that needed to chase goals. His three shots were the second highest for the Golden Star Warriors whilst he also chipped in with six recoveries and three interceptions.

Kritsada Kaman (Thailand)

The 22-year-old central defender has been a revelation throughout the tournament and was once again a rock at the back, outstanding in his positioning as he picked up more interceptions than any other player.

Nguyen Quang Hai (Vietnam)

The Vietnamese talisman had more shots than any other player in the match, played more key passes and was joint top in both corners won and dribbling as he tried everything he could to unpick a well-organised Thai backline.

Theerathon Bunmathan (Thailand)

Although his outing was blemished by a yellow card that means he’ll miss the first leg of the final this was an otherwise stellar showing from the fullback who picked up 11 recoveries, four clearances, had close to double the number of touches of his teammates whilst also making more passes in the opposition half and final third than any other player.
