With 70 goals raining down across the 20 group stage matches it was a busy time for many of the goalkeepers at the 2020 AFF Suzuki Cup.

Several teams played multiple keepers across their four matches, either through injury or rotation, and that sees our list contain the five most worthy candidates from those nations who impressed in keeping things watertight as well as those who tumbled out of the tournament but where their custodian still shone.

Make sure to vote below and have your say in which player should be crowned the Best Goalkeeper of the Group Stage.

Chatchai Budprom (Thailand)

Not expected to be a starter heading into the tournament, the 34-year-old has been a steady presence for the War Elephants.

Rested for the final match, he only conceded one goal in the three games he started, saved all but one shot that came his way and looked good with the ball at his feet.

Kevin Hansen (Philippines)

Having faced a heavy number of shots, the 27-year-old impressed in his work both in the air and on the ground and showed that he is a more than capable option to cover when Neil Etheridge is unavailable.

With 18 saves from the 24 shots that came his way he was statistically impressive and was also tidy in playing out from the back and an overall commanding presence for the Azkals.

Junildo (Timor-Leste)

Perhaps something of a surprise entry but the 18-year-old, playing in his first major international tournament, was a standout for a Timor-Leste side that was under sustained pressure for much of the group stage.

With 15 saves from the 22 shots he faced he was statistically immense and so influential was he that he was substituted on at half-time in the match against the Philippines (having been rotated from the starting side) where he immediately stabilised things.

Hassan Sunny (Singapore)

An ever-present as the Lions qualified for the semi-finals for the first time since 2012, the veteran keeper kept two clean sheets in the four group stage outings whilst also making several key saves.

Tran Nguyen Manh (Vietnam)

He may not have had as much to do as other keepers at the tournament but what he’s done he’s done efficiently, saving shots cleanly and also being strong in his distribution.

Nguyen Manh started three of Vietnam’s four games and kept a trio of successive shutouts as the Golden Stars Warriors advanced without conceding a single goal.
