The second round of matches at the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup certainly lived up to expectations with two teams making their tournament bow and with a string of standout performers across the four matches.

We've picked five players who stood out and now it is up to you, the fans, to vote for the one star who you think deserves to win the Matchday Two Player of the Round accolade.

Jesus Melliza (Philippines)

One of the more experienced players in this new look Philippines, Melliza impressed on his first start in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022. The 30-year-old scored a beauty with a swing of his left foot in the 5-1 win over Brunei DS, and also made two key passes in his 90 minutes at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Keo Soksela (Cambodia)

The Cambodia goalkeeper was once again tremendous between the sticks on Friday in his side's narrow loss to Indonesia. The Visakha FC custodian made an incredible six saves to frustrate the Indonesians and Cambodia will bank on his heroics in the coming matchdays too as they aim a semi-final berth.

Witan Sulaeman (Indonesia)

Scorer of Indonesia's all-important second goal that proved to be the matchwinner, Witan Sulaeman continued where he left off from the 2020 edition. The all-action forward had more shots than anyone on the pitch (5) and of those three were on target including his close range finish 10 minutes before the end of the first half.

Shawal Anuar (Singapore)

Shawal Anuar led the line for the Lions in impressive style in the rollercoaster 3-2 win over Myanmar. The Singaporean Number 20 netted the winning goal 16 minutes from time but he put in a battling performance throughout, taking part in a game-leading 17 duels, having three shots on goal, of which two were on target including his goal.

Sergio Aguero (Malaysia)

The man with the famous namesake showed he was just as deadly inside the area as his more illustrious countryman with a sharp finish from close range to open the scoring for his adopted nation against Laos. Aguero was in the thick of the action, involved in 20 duels - six more than the next highest player on the pitch - and had four shots on goal as well as creating two chances for teammates.
